Robert W. was recognized as Denmark’s best wicker maker in the 20th century, and was awarded the title of supplier to Her Majesty.

Many architects passed through his workshop in Copenhagen before becoming famous. This include Danish architects like Arne Jacobsen, Viggo Boesen, Nanna & Jørgen Ditzel and Kay Bojesen.

There, they learned from Robert W.’s talent for weaving and working with wicker. It was in this workshop that many of their prototypes were first realized.

He was also a pioneer in rattan production. Thanks to what he achieved and the way he challenged the material, in the 20th century, the rattan production is now as we know it today.

Sika-Design distributes different furniture designed by Robert W., such as the Robert dining chair, or the Fleur dining chair.
