Viggo Boesen was a Danish architect from the 20th century. He was a part of the Danish design aesthetics in the 1930s. It was in his workshop, that he designed several rattan and upholstery furniture.
The latter were constructed according to his way of thinking: “Furniture should have an organic flow and embrace the body smoothly and tenderly. They should be a delight to the eye, but also be solid and durable.”
The Fox chair was the first in a long line of furniture pieces. The chair was so well received that he won the design competition, held by the Danish wicker-maker guild in 1936.
His inspiring and innovative creations have made him special, and placed him among the designers of the “Danish Golden Age”.
Sika-Design distributes different furniture designed by Viggo Boesen, such as the Fox lounge chair, or the Teddy lounge chair and footstool.
