The Outline barstools marvellously harmonize with the black and grey themed interior. The centre of the Yama dessert shop is the large marble counter, which is used as a seating area and a working place for the chefs. Yama have used finishes such as rough concrete and mortar, as a supporting feature to beautifully showcase the large marble counters and the brass hardware that frames them. This perfectly fits in to Ariake’s philosophy that their furniture is made for social situations.

These Outline barstools are made of black ash wood and finished off with a leather seat. Norm architects designed this piece being loyal to traditional Japanese joinery methods and using all the craftmanship of the Mirodomi furniture industry.

Yama’s modern take on food and desserts can also be found in their interior. Contemporary design focusing on minimalism and practicality, but still with some classic elements.

Canoma are trying to bring out the tension of the space by repeatedly examining the balance between new and old, beatiful and rough. The relationship between the supporting actors to make the main dish the star of the show is expressed in the space. The chef called this “foie gras and potatoes”

The large windows with a small garden behind it, create a very peacefull environment. It’s also a testimonial to traditional Japenese gardens.
